At Angel Foundation, we know that parenting through cancer is hard. Though a parental cancer diagnosis affects the entire family, your normal instinct as a parent may be to try to protect your children from your diagnosis. Because we can’t eliminate cancer from our children’s lives, we believe that the best thing we can do is provide accurate, developmentally appropriate information delivered in a safe and encouraging environment. We hope the resources on this page assist you in delivering this information to your children.
Angel Foundation’s AngelPack program provides a tangible resource to children and parents to encourage healthy communication and an age appropriate understanding of cancer. Each AngelPack includes a variety of therapeutic items as well as guidebooks that help you and your family explore and learn what it means to be or have a parent with cancer. Click here to learn more about the AngelPack program and on the pictures below to download the guidebooks.
Program Director, Melissa Turgeon, is also available for phone consults Monday – Friday to help you learn more about what it means to be a parent or caregiver with children and how to support your family’s coping needs.
