A beautiful, sunny morning greeted our golfers at the 7th Annual Angels and Eagles Classic on July 27th. 128 players enjoyed an afternoon of 18 holes at Olympic Hills Golf Club in Eden Prairie, followed by cocktails, dinner with live and silent auctions.

At the start of the day, players warmed up at various Golf Clinics led by PGA Golf Professionals, received chair massages from Massage Envy of Eden Prairie, and stretched their muscles with Body Balance Performance of Bloomington. Participating players also received gift bags filled with golf items provided by Angel Sponsors. The morning came to a close with a moving Dedication Swing; the golfers lined up to take a synchronized drive together in honor of those touched by cancer.

The players were treated to games and contests throughout the day, including longest drives, putting contests, and three chances to win a car by making a hole-in-one. Although no one took home a car, it was clear that everyone enjoyed the events. Participating golfers included teams from Premier Sponsors AT&T and Rim Blackberry, as well as Wild right-winger Cal Clutterbuck, new Wild GM Chuck Fletcher, former Twins players Corey Koskie and Roy Smalley as well as local and national corporations (businesses and organizations).

The winner of the 18-holes was the foursome of Kelly and Jeff Grosklags, and Mike and Marcia Johnson. As the golfers trickled in off the course, they were treated to a silent auction, followed by dinner catered by Olympic Hills Golf Club staff. A whole host of donors provided Angel Foundation with over 60 raffle, live auction and silent auction items, ranging from concert tickets and vacation packages, to wine and signed sports memorabilia. The day was a great success the event raised over $150,000 dollars for our Financial Assistance Program to help families touched by cancer. The Financial Assistance Program provides grants for non-medical needs such as rent, utilities, gas or groceries to families in which an adult has cancer.

A big thank-you to all of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and golfers for pulling off this incredible event!
