Do you know a family facing cancer? Tell them about Angel Foundation’s Facing Cancer Together program, which offers age-appropriate education and support services to adults with cancer and their minor children. Upcoming events include:

Mondays, March 3, 10, 17, 24, April 7 and 14: Education and Support Series, 6 – 8 p.m. Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. A six-week series for families facing cancer, designed to provide families with the information and support they need in order to face the challenges of cancer together as a family. Reservations requested; dinner is included.

March 8: Teen event at Open Arms, 3 to 5 p.m. Teens will learn cooking techniques.

May 24: Teen event: Comedy Sportz and Famous Dave’s. Teens will experience a comedy improv class with dinner and a show to follow.

April 19: Teen event at Vertical Endeavors, 1 to 4 p.m. Spend the day climbing the walls.

May 10: A Day on the Horse Farm, noon to 5 p.m. Kadler Farms, Otsego. Join us for this unique experience. Your family will have the opportunity to ride and groom horses, tour the facilities, work on crafts or just sit and enjoy the day on the farm. Lunch provided.

June 12-14: Kids Kamp, Eden Wood Center, Eden Prairie. Three memorable days for children 5-18 who have a parent with cancer. Activities include: teambuilding activities, art, games, fun! Create a music video. High ropes course and overnight stay for 13+. (For parents: Drop-in Parent Group meets each morning 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. over coffee and tea to talk about parenting through cancer.)

July 12: Urban Adventure for Teens. Spend a day exploring downtown.

Aug. 5-6: Urban Adventures Kids Kamp, 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., Angel Foundation office. Activities include: classes at MacPhail Center for Music and Mill City Museum, lunch at Gold Medal Park, tour the Guthrie Theater, walk to the Mississippi River, visit St. Anthony Falls and the Stone Arch Bridge. Ages 5-12. Space is limited.

Aug. 14: Teen Day at U of M. Teens will learn all about applying to college, and the best ways they can prepare for their university experience.
