On May 10th, Nonna Rosa’s, an Italian restaurant and wine bar in Robbinsdale, hosted a special fundraiser featuring the spring line of Just Cause Jewelry with 50% of the proceeds donated to Angel Foundation.  Just Cause Jewelry was created in 2006 by Angel Foundation board member Kelly Grosklags and her friend Marcia Johnson.  In addition to the funds donated through the Just Cause sale, Nonna Rosa’s donated 10% of its overall dining sales during the event and half of the proceeds from the sale that afternoon of “Rina Ianca”, a Sicilian white wine.

The event was organized by Tina Suglia, owner of Nonna Rosa’s, and Betty Miller, a cancer survivor who once received financial assistance from Angel Foundation.  Since receiving the help in her time of need, Betty has hosted five Just Cause Jewelry parties to benefit Angel Foundation.  As a customer of Nonna Rosa’s, it was Betty’s idea to approach Tina about hosting her next party at the restaurant.

It was a perfect venue for such a beautiful, sunny afternoon.  Live music was performed by Mick Sterling & friends on the patio of the restaurant.  Dozens of women attended the event, enjoying wine, music, and their new jewelry. The event was a great success, raising more than $2,500 for Angel Foundation.  To see pictures from the event, please feel free to visit Nonna Rosa’s Facebook album at http://on.fb.me/JXR3RV

Thank you so much to Betty Miller, Tina Suglia, Vicky Swedenberg,  Nonna Rosa’s, and Just Cause Jewelry for hosting this wonderful event.  The money that you raised will make a positive impact on local families affected by cancer.  You are all angels.
